FAQs
How do I know if I should engage a coach?
Imagine this scenario:
You’re in autopilot mode; you go to work, you go home, spend a little bit of time with loved ones, then go to bed to start again tomorrow. It’s fine, but not necessarily exciting. You start feeling a little restless, maybe go on a trip or do something to bring a little joy to your life. Then you go right back into autopilot mode and the cycle starts again. The restlessness, the small joy, then autopilot again. You’ve done everything you’ve been told to do and your life looks right on paper, but you can’t shake the restlessness. Eventually, the restlessness can’t be satiated and it grows and grows but you’re not sure how to get it to go away anymore. You start thinking about making a change but aren’t sure what or where or how so nothing sticks.
Does this sound familiar? Then you may need a coach to guide you and ask the questions you’re a little afraid to ask yourself.
How do you define coaching?
Like in sports, coaching is about having someone along the way that cheers you on but also challenges you to be a better version of yourself every day. To me, coaching is about being a healthy thought partner to help you find your own answers to life. While therapy helps you with your past, coaching is all about your future.
What makes your approach different?
I lean in to your emotions. I believe that our emotions tell us a lot more honest truths than sometimes our brains will, especially when it comes to ourselves. We’ll take time to identify your emotions and use them to help us understand what your true feelings are in certain situations.Β It is important to note that while we will lean into your emotions, coaching is not the same as therapy where you would explore your triggers and deep dive into your emotions.Β For our purposes, we’ll use them more as a guide.Β
